Monterey Coastal Marine Forecast
NOAA's forecast for Monterey Bay. Usually less than 10 ft of swell is diveable. The Breakwater is the most protected site, it needs a swell directly from the Northwest to be affected.
Monterey CDIP Wave Height Forecast
Deep water wave forecast. Usually when the waves cross the storm threshold diving is not fun.
Indicates the current swell height, period (time between waves, the longer the period the deeper the surge is felt) and direction (in the radar looking diagram, the colored splotch shows from where the swell is coming).
Forecast of the swell for the next four days.
Surfing Magazine takes the NOAA offshore forecast and applies a model that takes into account coast topography. It seems to be very accurate.
Forecast of the swell for the next two days.
The upper section is the interesting one. It displays temperature of the water column from 300 m up to 40 m with red the warmest water. Above the colored area are lines. They indicate wind direction (as if a thread were blown by the wind) and the length is the wind speed. With calm winds the water warms and the visibility degrades.
Laguna Beach Coastal Marine Forecast
NOAA's forecast for Laguna Beach.
Laguna Beach and Catalina CDIP Current Swell
Indicates the current swell height, period (time between waves, the longer the period the deeper the surge is felt) and direction (in the radar looking diagram, the colored splotch shows from where the swell is coming). Laguna Beach is between Newport Beach and Dana Point.
Laguna Beach SwellWatch Forecast
Surfing Magazine takes the NOAA offshore forecast and applies a model that takes into account coast topography. It seems to be very accurate.
Southern California CDIP Current Swell
Indicates the current swell height, period (time between waves, the longer the period the deeper the surge is felt) and direction (in the radar looking diagram, the colored splotch shows from where the swell is coming).
Southern California CDIP Swell Forecast
Forecast of the swell for the next four days.
